Garmin Connect™
How to Connect Garmin to 42Runs
Garmin can connect straight to the 42Runs app. You sign in with your Garmin account — there is no pairing service in between. This connection is separate from Suunto, Polar, Coros, Amazfit, and Apple Watch.
This works on iPhone and Android. Open Settings → Connect Your Watch → Garmin.
Connect
- Open Settings → Connect Your Watch and choose Garmin.
- Tap Connect Garmin.
- Sign in to your Garmin account and choose what 42Runs may use. You can change that later in Garmin Connect.
When that finishes, the Garmin row shows Connected. Do not also link Garmin through the intervals.icu Connections page while you use this direct connection; that is a different Garmin link and can bring in the same run twice.
When you sign in, Garmin may say the app is not verified. That is expected while 42Runs is new in Garmin’s program. You choose what to share, and you can disconnect at any time, here or in Garmin Connect.
What syncs
Completed Garmin activities come back to 42Runs from this connection and are used for your training load, fitness, fatigue, and form. Garmin starts from the moment you connect; it does not send older activities.
Planned workouts from 42Runs go to your Garmin Connect calendar, so they appear on your watch after you sync Garmin Connect. To see a workout on the watch, open Garmin Connect and sync the watch.
Where 42Runs shows Garmin data, or something calculated from it (training load, Fitness, Fatigue, Form), it names Garmin and your device as the source.
Disconnecting
On Settings → Connect Your Watch → Garmin, tap Disconnect. 42Runs stops receiving data from that Garmin account and tells Garmin to remove the connection. Your plans and history in 42Runs stay as they are.

Garmin connects through the same free pairing service as Suunto, Coros, Amazfit, and Polar — intervals.icu. Open Settings → Connect Your Watch → Garmin in the 42Runs app. There is no separate Garmin login inside 42Runs for regular accounts.
Apple Watch connects in the iPhone app: connect Apple Watch to 42Runs. The full pairing-service steps for every brand are on how to connect your watch.
Connect
Part 1: Connect 42Runs to the pairing service
- Open Settings → Connect Your Watch and choose Garmin.
- Tap Continue. On the next screen, tap Continue again.
- Sign in to your intervals.icu account, or create a free account on the sign-in screen if you do not have one yet.
- Approve the connection.
When the connection is made, the Garmin screen shows Connected, with Open Connections for the next step.
Part 2: Link Garmin Connect
Tap Open Connections, then:
- Choose Garmin.
- Sign in to Garmin Connect and approve the connection. Make sure all the boxes for Garmin are checked.
- Return to 42Runs and tap Done.
Already use intervals.icu with Garmin? Then you are done after Part 1.
This is the same connection as Suunto, Coros, Amazfit, and Polar. Connecting Garmin covers those brands too, and disconnecting watch sync from Garmin stops all of them until you reconnect.
What syncs
Planned workouts go to your Garmin watch once both parts are done. Completed Garmin runs come back to 42Runs and are used for your training load, fitness, fatigue, and form.
Disconnecting
On Settings → Connect Your Watch → Garmin, tap Disconnect watch sync. This ends the link between 42Runs and the pairing service for Garmin and the other pairing-service brands. Your plans and history stay as they are. Garmin stays linked on the Connections page unless you remove it there as well.
