How to Connect Apple Watch to 42Runs

Apple Watch talks to 42Runs directly on the iPhone. There is no pairing service to sign into and no extra account. 42Runs asks your permission to schedule workouts on the watch and to read back the ones you complete from Apple Health.

This connection is available in the iPhone app. The Android app cannot connect an Apple Watch; Polar, Garmin, Suunto, Coros, and Amazfit still can.

Garmin, Suunto, Coros, and Amazfit use a different path — see how to connect your watch. Polar is also direct, on its own page: connect Polar to 42Runs.

Connect

  1. Open Settings → Connect Your Watch in 42Runs on iPhone.
  2. Choose Apple Watch.
  3. Tap Connect.
  4. Allow 42Runs to schedule workouts on your Apple Watch, then allow it to read workouts and heart rate from Health.

When both prompts are finished, the Apple Watch row shows Connected. That means the connect flow completed. Apple does not tell apps whether every Health type was granted, so if completed runs never appear, check iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → 42Runs and make sure workouts and heart rate are on.

What syncs

You do not need intervals.icu for Apple Watch. If Garmin (or another brand) is also connected, you can have both at once. Activities from both sources are kept; they are not merged into a single duplicate-free list.

Adding a plan

A training plan can be added when a connection can receive workouts. Apple Watch counts for that. Polar does not, until Polar allows planned workouts to be sent.

Disconnecting

On Settings → Connect Your Watch → Apple Watch, tap Disconnect. 42Runs stops using the permission. Garmin, Polar, and the pairing-service brands are unchanged.

Disconnect in 42Runs does not revoke Health access. To turn that off completely, open iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → 42Runs.

If workout scheduling was denied at the prompt, you can change it later in iPhone Settings → 42Runs.
