How to Connect Polar to 42Runs

Polar connects straight to the 42Runs app. You sign in with your Polar Flow account. There is no pairing service in between, and this connection is separate from Garmin, Suunto, Coros, Amazfit, and Apple Watch.

This works on iPhone and Android. Open Settings → Connect Your Watch → Polar.

For Garmin and the other pairing-service brands, see how to connect your watch. Apple Watch has its own steps: connect Apple Watch to 42Runs.

Connect

  1. Open Settings → Connect Your Watch and choose Polar.
  2. Tap Connect Polar.
  3. Sign in to Polar Flow and approve the connection.

When that finishes, the Polar row shows Connected. Disconnecting Polar later does not affect Garmin, Suunto, Coros, Amazfit, or Apple Watch.

Do not use the Polar card on the intervals.icu Connections page for this. That is a different Polar link, used by the pairing service. 42Runs Polar is only the Connect Polar button in the app.

What syncs today

Polar’s current API lets 42Runs pull data from Polar Flow. It does not yet let apps send a planned workout to a Polar watch. Until Polar opens that direction, 42Runs cannot push calendar sessions to your wrist.

That is why adding a training plan still asks for a connection that can receive workouts: Apple Watch, or Garmin / Suunto / Coros / Amazfit through the pairing service. Polar alone is not enough to send the plan.

Completed Polar activities are not yet shown on Home and the calendar the way Garmin (or Apple Watch) activities are. The Polar connection is in place so that path can be finished when Polar’s API allows a complete round trip.

Disconnecting

On Settings → Connect Your Watch → Polar, tap Disconnect. 42Runs stops talking to that Polar account. Your plans and history in 42Runs stay as they are.
